Who is Justine Trasler?
My Story
From a very young age, I felt a deep connection to Cornwall, the sound of the gulls, the aroma of warm sand, and the way the light sparkled across the clear sea. That’s where it began for me the love of art, wanting to paint not just what I see but what I feel.
My sketches are sometimes poetic, often playful, but always grounded in something personal. I’ve been painting for over 25 years, and watercolour has always been my passion it’s spontaneous, unpredictable, and alive. I love how ink lines add structure and storytelling to all that looseness.
I believe in letting go of striving for perfection and the freedom that often comes with that. I share my work in the hope that it sparks something, a memory, a smile, or just a reminder that beauty can be quiet and a little bit messy.

Where Art and Emotion Meet
Alongside painting, I’ve spent years working as a psychotherapeutic counsellor and for me, the two go hand in hand. Painting is how I breathe out. It’s often how I process life. The work I do, whether with people or on paper, is about being present, letting go, and finding meaning in the in-between.
I also love working on commissions from house portraits to sketches of places that hold meaning. If there’s somewhere you love, I’d be honoured to capture it in my style.
